How to read the twelve bhavas
A house identifies where a chart theme becomes visible: identity, resources, learning, home, creativity, work, partnership, transformation, belief, career, gains or release. AskShadow uses whole-sign houses, so the complete rising sign becomes the first house and each following sign becomes the next bhava.
House interpretation begins with the sign on the house and the condition of its ruling planet. Occupying planets add their own functions, while aspects and active dashas show support, pressure and timing. An empty house still has a sign and a lord, so it is never an absent area of life.
Read each bhava below, then connect it with its actual rashi and ruling graha in the kundli. The natural-sign associations are teaching aids; they do not replace the signs calculated from a person's birth time and place.
