Vedic birth chart, kundli and Janam Kundli
These terms usually point to the same underlying object. In English, people often say Vedic birth chart or natal chart. In India, kundli, kundali and Janam Kundli are common. Jyotish is the broader interpretive tradition in which the chart is used.
What goes into the calculation?
A chart requires your birth date, local birth time and birthplace. Time and location determine the ascendant, or Lagna, and the twelve-house structure. Two people born on the same date can therefore have different charts.

Sidereal versus tropical astrology
Most contemporary Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, anchored to the seasons. Vedic astrology usually uses a sidereal zodiac aligned to the stars through an ayanamsa. This is why your Vedic Sun, Moon or ascendant may differ from the sign you know from a Western horoscope.

A careful reading can surface recurring patterns in work, relationships, attention and periods of change. It cannot remove uncertainty or make a decision for you. The chart is most useful when you understand its assumptions, compare it with lived experience and keep your agency intact.
