Pisces as your Lagna
With Pisces rising, Jupiter becomes the ruler of your chart — its condition colours everything else. The nakshatras beginning inside Pisces are Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati.
How Pisces changes by placement
As the Lagna, Pisces shapes the house structure, outward manner and the role of Jupiter as chart ruler. As the Moon sign, it describes instinctive reactions and the way experience is processed. When another graha occupies Pisces, that planet expresses its own agenda through a dual water style.
Do not read the rashi in isolation. Identify the house containing Pisces, assess Jupiter elsewhere in the chart and note conjunctions, aspects and the planet's exact nakshatra. AskShadow uses the sidereal zodiac, so first confirm that you are comparing like with like when another chart labels the placement differently.
Common questions
Which planet rules Pisces?
Pisces, or Meena rashi, is ruled by Jupiter. It is a dual water sign, and when it rises as your Lagna, Jupiter becomes the ruler of your whole chart.
Is Vedic Pisces the same as Western Pisces?
The symbolism overlaps, but Vedic astrology normally uses the sidereal zodiac while most Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac. A person's sign placement can therefore differ between the two systems.
